The Studiomaster DIRECT 101MX is a compact active column PA system designed for performers, DJs, presenters and venues that need clear, powerful sound without a conventional speaker-and-stand setup.

Its self-powered three-way design combines a 10-inch bass-reflex subwoofer with six 3-inch midrange drivers and a 1-inch compression driver. The result is a balanced system capable of reproducing speech, vocals, instruments and recorded music with excellent clarity.

A built-in four-channel mixer, adjustable reverb, Bluetooth audio streaming and comprehensive 24-bit DSP make the DIRECT 101MX a practical all-in-one solution for live performances, presentations, receptions, conferences, fitness classes and smaller events.

600W RMS Dual-Channel Amplification

The DIRECT 101MX contains two 300W RMS Class D amplifier channels, providing 600W RMS of available amplification for the subwoofer and column sections.

The active subwoofer module houses a professional 10-inch driver inside a wooden bass-reflex enclosure. This provides controlled low-frequency reinforcement for music and instruments while remaining compact enough for mobile use.

Above the subwoofer, the vertical array combines six 3-inch midrange drivers with a dedicated 1-inch compression driver. This arrangement delivers detailed vocals and instruments while maintaining clear high-frequency reproduction.

Wide and Consistent Sound Coverage

The column provides a wide 120° horizontal by 30° vertical coverage pattern. This helps distribute sound across the audience while reducing unnecessary output towards floors and ceilings.

Its wide horizontal dispersion makes the DIRECT 101MX suitable for function rooms, bars, restaurants, conference spaces and other venues where listeners may be positioned across a broad area.

Integrated Four-Channel Mixer

The built-in four-channel mixer allows microphones, instruments and music sources to be connected directly to the system without always requiring a separate mixing desk.

Two XLR and 6.35mm combination inputs accept microphone or line-level signals, making them suitable for microphones, keyboards, mixers and other audio equipment. A dedicated high-impedance 6.35mm input is provided for instruments such as electric or electro-acoustic guitars.

A stereo RCA input and Bluetooth connectivity provide convenient options for playing music from compatible phones, tablets, laptops and media players.

Individual channel controls and adjustable reverb make it easier to create a suitable live mix directly from the speaker.

24-Bit DSP Sound Processing

The integrated 24-bit DSP is controlled through a clear display and single control encoder. Music, DJ and Speech operating modes provide useful starting points for different applications.

Further processing includes digital gain control, three-band equalisation, a high-pass filter, limiters and storable presets. These controls allow the system to be adjusted to suit the source material and acoustics of the venue.

A digital output delay can be configured for delay zones of up to 100 metres in 0.25-metre steps. This is particularly useful when integrating the DIRECT 101MX into a larger distributed sound system.

Flexible Outputs and System Expansion

An XLR mix output provides several options for connecting the DIRECT 101MX to additional sound equipment.

A second compatible speaker system can be connected when wider coverage or increased output is required. The mix output can also send the combined audio signal to another powered speaker, recording system or external audio device.

Portable Modular Design

The column system separates into compact sections for transportation and storage. Assembly is straightforward, with the column and support section mounting directly above the active subwoofer.

A protective cover for the subwoofer and a carry bag for the column sections are included, helping to protect the system during storage and transport.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is the Studiomaster DIRECT 101MX an active speaker system?

A: Yes. The amplifier is built into the subwoofer module and powers both the 10-inch subwoofer and the vertical column array. No separate power amplifier is required.

Q: Can I use the DIRECT 101MX without a separate mixer?
