Trussing for Lighting, Stages and Events

Trussing provides a framework for positioning suitable production equipment and creating structures for events, venues and exhibitions. Its modular format allows layouts to be designed around the space, equipment and presentation requirements of each project.

Global Truss Systems and Series

Explore Global Truss ranges including F14, F24, F31, F32, F33, F34, F35 and F45, with Standard and PL options available within selected series. Different systems offer different dimensions, profiles and connection arrangements.

When extending an existing structure, confirm its exact series and connector type before ordering. Similar dimensions or appearance do not establish compatibility, and components from different ranges should only be combined where the manufacturer confirms they are suitable.

For a new project, select the system around its intended application and published technical information, including the proposed span, support arrangement and equipment loads.

Straight Sections, Corners and Circular Truss

Straight lengths provide the main sections of a truss layout, while corners and junctions allow changes in direction and connections between sections. Circular segments offer further design options for suitably engineered event and display structures.

Plan the full layout before selecting individual pieces. Account for corner dimensions, connection points and the overall assembled size, as these affect how the structure fits within the venue. For mobile production work, section lengths also influence transport and storage requirements.

Base Plates and Ground Support Components

Base plates and ground support components form part of the support arrangement for suitable truss structures. The range includes plates, screwjack bases, outriggers and selected tower components.

Choose these as part of the complete system design. A base plate alone does not establish that a tower is stable or suitable for its intended load. Height, equipment position and the surrounding conditions all affect the support requirements.

Truss Accessories and Finishing Options

Connection hardware, mounting accessories and replacement fittings help complete or maintain a compatible truss system. Check whether connectors are included with each section or need to be ordered separately.

Selected truss sleeves provide a finishing option for event presentation. Match their shape and dimensions to the intended truss, and consider any covering as part of the overall design.

Planning Your Trussing Setup

Use the manufacturer’s loading data for the exact configuration rather than applying a single capacity figure to every arrangement. The position and distribution of equipment matter alongside its total weight, and structural design and assembly should be handled by competent people.
