Wireless Microphone Systems for Every Scale of Event
A wireless microphone gives speakers and performers freedom to move while keeping their voice connected to the sound system. Whether you need one microphone for announcements, two for karaoke or several for a stage production, the right setup starts with how many people will use it and what they need to do.
Prebeat’s range covers single and dual wireless microphones through to larger multichannel packages. With handheld and bodypack options, you can build a system around singing, speech, teaching, worship or theatrical performance.
Single and Dual Wireless Microphones
A single wireless microphone system is a practical choice for a solo singer, presenter, celebrant or instructor. Dual systems provide two microphone channels, making them useful for interviews, duets, shared presentations and events with separate hosts.
For mobile DJs and karaoke operators, handheld wireless microphones are easy to pass between users. Check receiver outputs when connecting to your existing equipment: separate outputs allow independent level control through suitable mixer channels, while some systems also provide a combined output.
Handheld, Headset and Lapel Microphones
Choose the microphone style around the person using it. A handheld microphone suits singers, hosts and audience questions, giving the user direct control over its position.
Headset microphones leave both hands free and keep the capsule close to the mouth as the wearer moves. They are useful for teaching, fitness instruction and stage performance. For active classes, choose a headset specifically designed for that environment.
Lapel microphones, also called lavalier microphones, offer a discreet option for presentations, speeches and worship. They normally connect to a bodypack transmitter, with careful placement helping to reduce clothing noise and maintain consistent speech pickup. Check connector and transmitter compatibility when choosing a replacement headset or lapel mic.
Wireless Microphones for Schools and Productions
School assemblies may need only a handheld microphone, while plays, musicals and larger presentations can require several performers to be heard at once. Plan around the busiest scene or segment, including any hosts or offstage speakers who also need a channel.
Bodypack systems with suitable headsets can help performers move and use props freely. For teaching staff and student operators, clear channel labels, accessible controls and an organised battery routine can make rehearsals and performances easier to manage.
Think about future requirements as well as the next event. A system that supports coordinated expansion can provide a more practical foundation for an ongoing production programme.
Church Microphone Systems and Worship
Churches often need a combination of microphone styles for ministers, readers, worship leaders and visiting speakers. A headset or lapel microphone supports hands-free delivery, while handheld models can move between singers and contributors.
Consider the layout of the building, receiver location and the areas users need to cover. Position microphones and loudspeakers carefully, and check how the wireless receivers will connect to the church’s existing mixer and PA system.
Multichannel Wireless Microphone Packages
Larger systems bring several microphones together for productions, conferences and events. Our range includes Q-Audio multichannel bundles, with handheld and bodypack configurations and selected packages incorporating antenna distribution.
The number of selectable frequencies is not the same as the number of microphones that can operate simultaneously. Choose equipment with a suitable simultaneous-channel capacity and coordinate frequencies across the whole setup, including any existing wireless equipment.
Antenna distribution can help organise compatible receiver installations, but it does not create additional usable frequencies. Check each bundle’s included receivers, transmitters, antennas and connection requirements before ordering.
Wireless Microphone Frequencies and UK Licensing
Frequency choice matters when buying a new system or expanding an existing one. Channel 70 systems operating within 863–865MHz can be used licence-free in the UK, subject to the applicable technical conditions. Channel 38 operation requires an appropriate Ofcom licence.
Licence-free operation does not guarantee freedom from interference. For larger installations, consider frequency availability, the manufacturer’s coordination guidance and other systems operating nearby. Check current Ofcom guidance for your chosen equipment and intended use.
Complete Your Wireless Microphone Setup
A complete system needs compatible transmitting and receiving equipment, plus a connection to your sound system. Individual replacement transmitters and receivers are also listed in this category, so check package contents carefully.
