Lighting bars offer an effective way to cover wide areas with colour, movement and eye-catching visual effects. Their long, compact design makes them ideal for illuminating stages, dancefloors, walls, backdrops, DJ booths and venue features without occupying the space required by several individual lighting fixtures.
Our range includes LED lighting bars, stage lighting battens, pixel bars, colour wash fixtures, UV bars, strobe and blinder effects, rechargeable lighting bars and multi-effect systems. Options are available for mobile DJs, bands, event companies, theatres, clubs, bars, schools, houses of worship and professional production environments.
Products are available from established lighting brands including ADJ, Algam Lighting, Chauvet, Citronic, elumen8, Equinox, LEDJ and QTX.
LED wash bars and battens create a wide spread of colour across stages, walls, backdrops and venue interiors. They are a practical choice when an even wash is required across a larger area than a single LED par can would normally cover.
Colour options vary between models and can include RGB, RGBW, RGBA, RGBWA, RGBL and UV LEDs. Fixtures with additional white, amber or lime emitters can provide a broader range of colours and improved pastel shades.
Wash bars can be positioned on the floor for uplighting, attached to a suitable lighting stand or installed on trussing using the correct clamps and safety equipment.
Pixel bars and pixel battens divide their LEDs into individually controllable sections or zones. This allows them to create chases, moving colour patterns, animated effects and sequential flashes across the length of the fixture.
These effects are particularly useful for stage backdrops, DJ performances, live music, dance events and creative lighting installations. Several compatible pixel bars can be positioned together to create larger coordinated patterns.
The number of controllable zones and available DMX channels varies between models, so it is important to check the individual product specification when planning a pixel-controlled lighting system.
Blinder and strobe bars are designed to create bright audience-facing effects for stage shows, concerts, clubs and live events. Some models combine white, amber or coloured blinder LEDs with RGB effects, allowing a single fixture to produce several different looks.
Multi-effect lighting bars may combine wash lighting, beams, strobes, pixel effects or other animated patterns in one compact unit. These fixtures are well suited to mobile DJs and performers who want to create a varied light show while keeping setup time and equipment requirements manageable.
UV lighting bars can illuminate fluorescent materials, white clothing and UV-reactive decorations. They are popular for themed events, Halloween displays, clubs, parties, stage productions and creative venue installations.
LED colour tubes provide another way to add illuminated lines and vertical effects around a DJ booth, stage or event space. Depending on the model, they can be positioned horizontally, mounted vertically or incorporated into a larger lighting display.
Rechargeable lighting bars reduce the need for power cables at the fixture position. They can be useful for temporary event installations, venue uplighting and locations where running additional cables would be difficult.
Outdoor events require lighting bars with an appropriate IP rating. Only fixtures specifically designed and rated for outdoor use should be exposed to rain or moisture. Always check the individual product’s IP rating and operating guidance before using it outside.
The best lighting bar will depend on the effect you want to create, the size of the area and the level of control required. Important points to consider include:
Control options vary between products. Many lighting bars include standalone automatic programmes, sound-activated effects, master and slave operation or DMX control. Some professional models also support advanced control protocols, pixel mapping or integration with compatible lighting ecosystems.
Automatic and sound-activated modes can provide a quick solution for parties and smaller events. DMX is more suitable when precise control, synchronisation or integration with other fixtures is required.
Always check the available channel modes, connector type and control compatibility when adding a lighting bar to an existing DMX system.
A: The terms are often used interchangeably. Both describe a long lighting fixture containing multiple LEDs, although batten is commonly used for wash and stage fixtures while lighting bar can also include pixel, beam, strobe and multi-effect products.
A: Yes. Their compact shape, wide coverage and built-in programmes make lighting bars a popular choice for mobile DJs. Multi-effect and sound-activated models can create a varied light show with fewer individual fixtures.
A: Many lighting bars support DMX control, but the available channel modes and functions vary between models. Check the individual product specification to confirm its DMX connections and control options.
A: Yes. LED wash bars and battens can be positioned along a wall to create an even spread of coloured uplighting. The coverage will depend on the fixture’s beam angle, output and distance from the wall.
A: Only models with a suitable IP rating should be exposed to outdoor conditions. Standard indoor lighting bars must be protected from rain, moisture and unsuitable temperatures.
A: Yes. The range includes selected rechargeable lighting bars that can operate without a mains cable at the fixture position. Battery operating time and charging requirements vary between products.
