January 2024 will see the release of two brand new additions to the Equinox Helix family of products that we hope is only the start of expanding this range. Equinox first released the Helix gobo flower lighting effect as a 100w LED version that impressed customers with its ability to emulate lights previously only seen many years ago with lamps. Those of us that are old enough will always hold a fond memory of the NJD Datamoon with a 250w halogen lamp! LEDs for a few years just haven’t been bright enough to emulate those older effects – until the release of the HELIX XP.
As LED effect lighting developed at speed it was the Equinox Helix XP, which is possibly one of the biggest selling DJ lights in the UK currently, was released. The Helix XP came with a very bright 150w cool white LED and offered not just rotating gobos (8 of them with 9 colours and open), but also allowed you to change the gobos. This superb product from Equinox even included a pack of 11 extra gobos with some of the most popular phrases included for those special events, particularly popular with Mobile DJs.
Now we see that XP range built upon with the introduction of the Equinox Helix Scan XP and Equinox Helix Roller XP containing the same 150w bright LED and changeable gobos. For a long time the industry has been looking for a bright portable scan and barrel style effect and now these two units can be mixed with each other and also the Equinox Helix XP gobo flower too. This offers a unique and powerful light show with built in program that are easy to use. Although these superb lighting effects would look great on a DMX controller, most Mobile DJs or venues like to just plug their lighting effects in and let them either run through the auto programs or on sound active mode. That is not a problem with these new fixtures as you can mix and match the different effects, link them together with DMX cables and simply set them Master / Slave. However you use them, you can watch them fill a room with an amazing light show that is bright enough even for those larger venues.
Although packed full of features all of the products in the Helix XP range can be controlled with their CA8 easy controller (available separately) to give you basic functions quickly. The scanners also feature a 3 facet rotating prism.
Equinox have not just pulled these superb products off the shelf; you can see there is some real thought and in-depth research as to how they look and work together. As we write this blog the first shipment is about to land and here at Prebeat we are going to display them in our Hartlepool showroom as soon as possible. We are in absolutely no doubt that when it comes to DMX lighting these new products are destined to be as popular as the Helix Gobo Flower itself has become. Finally, and as we finished typing up this blog Equinox released a sneak peek at these two new products in white – so that means you will be able to purchase the Equinox Helix XP, Helix Scan XP and Helix Roller XP all in a clean white colourway in the very near future.
You can see and buy the full range of Equinox Helix products on our website.
