The Adastra CS-6F is a fire-rated surface speaker for commercial public address installations. Suitable for wall or ceiling mounting, it provides a practical solution where recessed speakers cannot be fitted or cutting into the ceiling could compromise a fire barrier.

A 6.5-inch full-range driver delivers audio through a powder-coated steel enclosure and grille. Four transformer power taps let installers adjust individual speaker levels to suit different areas and manage the amplifier load across a distributed 100V system.

The CS-6F is certified to EN54-24 and incorporates fire-resistant internal wiring, ceramic terminals and a thermal fuse. Its removable internal mounting bar and cable gland knock-outs simplify fitting and cable routing.

FAQs

Q: What is the benefit of a surface-mounted speaker?
A: It avoids the large ceiling cut-out needed for a recessed speaker, making it useful where ceiling void space is limited. Fixings and cable entry still need to suit the building’s construction.

Q: How do I choose a suitable 100V amplifier?
A: Add together the selected power taps of every connected speaker, then choose an amplifier with sufficient capacity and suitable operating headroom.

Q: Does an EN54-24 speaker make the whole system compliant?
A: No. Loudspeaker certification is one part of the specification. System design, other components and installation must also meet the project’s requirements.
