Laser effects create a distinctive look alongside conventional LED lighting, producing defined patterns, moving shapes and colourful projections. They can add another visual element to mobile DJ setups, club installations and live productions when selected and installed for the intended space.
Prebeat’s range includes compact laser effects and animation models, with different colour combinations, output levels and control options.
RGB lasers combine red, green and blue sources to produce a wider palette of colours. Animation models use scanning systems to draw patterns and graphics, while other effects focus on moving beams and preset displays.
Selected smart animation lasers support custom text and freehand content through a compatible smartphone app, making them useful for personalised projections. Check each model’s capabilities, as custom graphics and text are not available on every laser.
Built-in automatic programmes and sound-activated modes provide options for running preset shows. Compatible master/slave operation allows multiple fixtures to follow a coordinated sequence.
DMX-equipped lasers can integrate with suitable lighting control systems for selecting effects and adjusting supported functions. Selected animation models also offer ILDA connections for use with compatible laser control equipment. Check the required interface, software and accessories before choosing your system.
Consider projection distance, ambient light, scan angle and the effects you want to create, alongside the stated laser output. For animation work, scanner performance also matters; power alone does not determine how detailed a projected graphic will look.
Check the laser classification and installation requirements before purchase. Laser effects require controlled positioning and operation in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, keeping beams away from eyes and avoiding uncontrolled audience exposure.
Use laser patterns alongside complementary DJ lighting and LED PAR cans to combine defined effects with broader colour washes. Suitable haze machines can make beams more visible in the air where the venue permits their use.
Complete DMX connections with appropriate DMX cables, checking connector types and control requirements for your chosen fixtures.
