The ADJ AX2 is a compact, fully integrated professional lighting controller powered by the ONYX platform from Obsidian Control Systems. Combining touchscreen operation with a comprehensive physical control surface, it provides lighting designers with the speed and flexibility required for touring productions, theatres, live events, houses of worship and permanent venue installations.

Integrated processing supports up to 32 DMX universes directly from the console without requiring a separate external processing system. Four five-pin DMX/RDM ports provide physical universe connections, while dual Gigabit network ports support Art-Net, sACN and ONYX X-Net for larger networked lighting systems.

Touchscreen and Hands-On Lighting Control

A bright, adjustable 15.6-inch Full HD multi-touch display provides a clear view of the ONYX programming interface. The main screen is supported by an additional 3.5-inch RGB touchscreen for accessing parameter groups, effects, fanning and global timing controls.

Ten 60mm playback faders each have four assignable function buttons, while eight rotary encoders provide direct fixture-parameter control. A full numerical keypad, command keys, dedicated Grand Master and Master Go controls help experienced programmers work quickly without relying entirely on the touchscreen.

ONYX Software with Integrated DYLOS Pixel Engine

The ONYX platform provides a professional programming environment for controlling conventional fixtures, moving heads, LED lighting and complex networked systems. Its scalable workflow makes the AX2 suitable for both fixed installations and touring productions.

The integrated DYLOS media engine adds five zones of pixel control, allowing media, animations and effects to be mapped across compatible pixel-controlled fixtures. SMPTE and MIDI connectivity also supports timecoded productions, show control and multimedia applications.

Powerful Integrated Hardware

An Intel i5 Hexa-Core processor, 16GB of DDR4 RAM and a 500GB NVMe storage drive provide responsive operation and fast show loading. The console uses a quiet thermal design with copper heat-pipe cooling and runs a Windows 11 IoT Embedded operating system.

Two DisplayPort connections support up to two additional 4K touch displays, providing more workspace for fixture views, playbacks, cue lists and programming windows.
