Powerful Multi-Beam Moving Head Effect

The Equinox UFO is a distinctive multi-beam moving head that produces six narrow, razor-sharp beams of RGBW light. Combining movement from the base, arm and continuously rotating head, it creates sweeping aerial patterns that appear to rise, fall and hover above the dancefloor.

Six 40W quad-colour LEDs provide red, green, blue and white output from each beam. The extremely narrow 2° beam angle concentrates the light into clearly defined shafts, making the UFO an impressive centrepiece for mobile DJs, clubs, entertainment venues, live events and stage productions.

For the strongest aerial effect, use the fixture with suitable haze where permitted. Haze is not essential for operation, but it makes the individual beams and their movement far more visible through the air.

Multi-Directional Movement

The single-arm design provides 540° base pan and 270° tilt, while the circular head offers continuous 360° rotation. This combination allows the beams to travel around the room in unusual patterns that cannot be produced by a conventional moving head.

DMX control includes 16-bit pan and tilt positioning for smoother, more accurate movement. Variable strobe, full-range dimming and selectable dimming curves provide further control over the intensity and character of the effect.

Automatic, Sound-Activated and DMX Control

The Equinox UFO can run without a controller using its built-in automatic or sound-activated programmes. Sound mode responds to music, making it suitable for straightforward mobile DJ and party setups where a programmed DMX show is not required.

Multiple fixtures can be connected in primary and secondary mode to reproduce coordinated shows. For custom programming, 16-channel DMX control provides access to movement, colour, dimming, strobe and effect functions.

A four-button menu with a 2-inch LCD display gives direct access to fixture settings. Three-pin XLR DMX input and output connections allow the unit to be added to a standard DMX chain.

Professional Connections and Installation

PowerTwist input and output connections allow power to be linked between compatible fixtures, helping reduce the number of separate mains feeds required within a lighting rig.

A quick-release omega clamp is included for mounting. Overhead installation also requires an appropriate truss clamp and a suitable secondary safety cable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What type of lighting effect does the Equinox UFO produce?
A: It produces six narrow RGBW beams that rotate and move around the room. Movement from the base, arm and circular head creates sweeping aerial patterns above the dancefloor or stage.

Q: Can the Equinox UFO be used without a DMX controller?
A: Yes. Built-in automatic and sound-activated programmes allow the fixture to create complete light shows without an external controller.

Q: Can multiple Equinox UFO fixtures be synchronised?
A: Yes. Multiple units can be connected using DMX cables and operated in primary and secondary mode to run coordinated shows.

Q: How many DMX channels does the Equinox UFO use?
A: The fixture uses 16 DMX channels, providing control over movement, colour, dimming, strobe and effect functions.

Q: Does the head rotate continuously?
A: Yes. The circular head provides continuous 360° rotation. The base also offers 540° pan, while the arm provides 270° tilt movement.

Q: Does the Equinox UFO need a haze machine?
A: No, but a suitable haze machine will make the six narrow beams and aerial patterns much more visible. Always check that haze is permitted at the venue.

Q: Is a mounting clamp included?
A: A quick-release omega clamp is included. An appropriate truss clamp and secondary safety cable are also required for overhead installation.
