The QTX UVB-24X is a powerful ultraviolet LED bar designed to create wide and even blacklight effects across stages, dancefloors, walls and entertainment spaces.

Its 24 x 3W UV LEDs produce light at a wavelength of 398nm, illuminating fluorescent clothing, UV decorations and reactive materials with the familiar blacklight glow. A wide 60° beam angle helps spread the effect across a larger area, making the fixture suitable for mobile DJs, clubs, bars, parties, Halloween events and venue installations.

Four controllable LED zones, selectable DMX modes and built-in automatic and sound-activated programs provide flexible operation for both simple setups and programmed lighting shows.

Powerful 398nm Blacklight Effect

The UVB-24X uses 24 high-output 3W ultraviolet LEDs to create a consistent UV wash. Its 398nm wavelength is particularly effective with fluorescent and UV-reactive materials, helping colours and white fabrics stand out in darker environments.

The one-metre bar format distributes the LEDs across a wide area, providing more even coverage than a compact UV spotlight. This makes it suitable for illuminating backdrops, stage scenery, dancefloors and themed displays.

Four Controllable LED Zones

The LEDs are divided into four controllable zones, allowing the bar to produce more dynamic effects than a single-section UV fixture.

Each zone can be dimmed independently through DMX, making it possible to create stepped chases, pulses and sequential ultraviolet effects. An eight-channel mode adds control over the global dimmer, strobe, effect macros and macro speed.

DMX and RDM Control

Selectable four and eight-channel DMX modes allow the UVB-24X to be integrated into different lighting systems.

Four-channel mode provides independent dimming for each of the four LED zones. Eight-channel mode adds a master dimmer, variable-speed strobe and built-in effect macros.

The fixture also supports RDM for integration with compatible lighting control and device-management equipment. Three-pin XLR DMX input and output connections allow additional fixtures to be connected within a DMX chain.

Standalone and Sound-Activated Operation

A separate lighting controller is not essential. The UVB-24X includes automatic programs, sound-activated effects, manual zone dimming, strobe macros, jump programs, fades and pulse effects.

Program speed and strobe rate can be adjusted using the onboard display and control buttons. An internal microphone allows the sound-activated programs to respond to music.

Multiple compatible fixtures can also be connected in master/slave mode for coordinated operation without individually programming each unit.

Flexible Mounting and Connections

Two adjustable brackets are supplied for wall mounting or positioning the fixture on a suitable level surface. Its slim and lightweight enclosure can also be installed on truss using an appropriate clamp and safety equipment.

Locking power input and output connections provide secure mains connections and allow compatible fixtures to be power linked. A 1.5m locking power lead and a 1.5m DMX cable are included with the fixture.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What does the QTX UVB-24X do?

A: It produces an ultraviolet blacklight effect that makes fluorescent clothing, decorations, paints and other UV-reactive materials glow.

Q: Can the four sections be controlled separately?

A: Yes. Both DMX modes provide independent dimming control for the four LED zones. The eight-channel mode also adds a global dimmer, strobe and effect macro controls.

Q: Can the UVB-24X operate without a DMX controller?

A: Yes. It includes automatic programs, sound-activated effects, manual dimming and adjustable strobe, jump, fade and pulse programs.

Q: Can multiple UVB-24X bars operate together?

A: Yes. The fixtures can be connected using DMX or operated in master/slave mode. Locking power input and output connections also allow compatible fixtures to be power linked within the permitted electrical load.

Q: Is a DMX cable included?

A: Yes. The UVB-24X includes a 1.5m DMX cable as well as a 1.5m locking power lead.

Q: Can the UVB-24X be mounted on a wall or truss?

A: Yes. Two adjustable wall and floor brackets are included. Truss mounting requires a suitable clamp and appropriate secondary safety equipment.

Q: Is the QTX UVB-24X suitable for outdoor use?

A: No. It is designed for indoor use and must be protected from rain, moisture and liquids.

Q: Does UV lighting work in a brightly lit room?

A: The fluorescent effect is most visible in a dark or dimly lit environment. Bright ambient lighting will reduce the apparent intensity of the blacklight effect.
