Lighting control brings your fixtures together, allowing you to coordinate colours, brightness, movement and effects across a show. From setting a consistent room colour to programming sequences for a live performance, the right controller helps you achieve repeatable results.
Prebeat’s range includes equipment from ADJ, Chauvet, LEDJ, elumen8, Transcension, Wolfmix and more, covering compact controllers through to larger lighting consoles and software-based systems.
Start with the fixtures you want to control and the functions you need to access. A straightforward controller may suit a small group of LED PAR cans, while a rig combining moving head lights and effects may benefit from more flexible programming.
Check the controller’s channel capacity, fixture support and operating method. Each light’s selected DMX mode determines how many control channels it uses, so plan around your complete setup and allow room for future additions.
Software-based lighting systems provide tools for building scenes, arranging sequences and managing more detailed shows. Selected systems offer fixture libraries, timeline programming and live playback controls, with remote operation available on compatible equipment.
When comparing systems, check computer requirements, included hardware, available DMX outputs and any licence requirements. For hands-on operation, dedicated desks and standalone controllers offer an alternative workflow.
Wireless DMX transmitters and receivers can reduce control cabling between your controller and compatible lights. They are particularly useful for distributed wireless lighting around event spaces.
Check that transmitters, receivers and fixtures support compatible wireless protocols. Wireless DMX carries control data; the lights still need their own mains or battery power. Infrared remotes provide another convenient option for supported fixtures, with compatibility specific to the remote and lighting model.
DMX splitters distribute a control signal across separate cable runs, helping organise larger rigs. Selected models provide optically isolated outputs and signal boosting. The range also includes DMX mergers, Art-Net nodes and wall plates for more involved installations.
Dimmer and switching packs provide additional control for compatible equipment. Match the pack’s operating mode and load rating to the fixtures you intend to connect.
Complete your control system with suitable DMX cables, checking connector types and cable lengths against your planned layout.
